Application Background: “Coosa Valley Medical Center is located in the hill country of central Alabama and can be traced back to its original opening in 1945. The medical center has undergone many expansions in its history, with the most recent being its West Wing Project. This four story, 120,000 square foot expansion greatly increased its space and facilities, adding 86 new inpatient rooms, 10 additional beds for the Intensive Care Unit, a state of the art Imaging Center and a new Women’s Center.
When it came to backup power for this facility, lead time and redundancy were major factors in the decision making process.”
Solution: “Energy Systems Southeast, a Generac Industrial Power Distributor, proposed a 3 x 400 kW MPS solution to provide backup power to the Coosa Valley Medical Center. This solution provided nearly N+2 redundancy to the facility, and was delivered in less time than a traditional single engine generator. The MPS solution is also scalable, allowing the Coosa Valley Medical Center
to easily expand its backup power capacity in the future as the facility continues to grow.”
